The overall value of listed bonds, exchange-traded funds and equities on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) rose by an aggregate N51.6 trillion in the first half of 2026, according to THISDAY.
Equities remained the dominant contributor to the gain, with sustained demand for banking, industrial and consumer goods counters. The bond segment also expanded as new FGN and corporate issuances came to market.
Market observers say the broad-based increase reflects deepening domestic investor participation and improving fundamentals across issuers listed on the exchange.
