Samson Adekunle

Mr. Adekunle is a Non-Executive Director on the Board of AVA Capital PLC, bringing 2 decades of distinguished experience across banking and capital markets, with core expertise in enterprise-wide risk management, business development, strategy, financial advisory, internal control, treasury management, and securities trading.

He began his career in the Risk Management Division of Guaranty Trust Bank, where he spent almost a decade building a strong foundation in credit and enterprise risk. He subsequently joined United Capital Plc as Group Head of Risk Management and Internal Control, where he led enterprise-wide risk oversight and strengthened internal control frameworks across the group.

He holds a B.Sc. in Microbiology and an MBA from Obafemi Awolowo University, and has further deepened his executive capabilities through studies in Disruptive Innovation at Harvard Business School, an Executive Certificate in Innovation and Commercialization from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the Advanced Management Programme (AMP) completed at Lagos Business School and IESE Business School, Barcelona, Spain, and the Oxford Advanced Management and Leadership Programme (OAMLP) at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford

Mr. Adekunle is a Certified Risk Analyst (CRA®), an SEC-Sponsored Individual, an Associate Chartered Stockbroker, an Authorised Dealing Clerk of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (UK), and a Fellow of the Global Academy of Finance and Management (GAFM®). 

He is also a member of the Professional Risk Managers' International Association, the Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management of Nigeria, and holds Fellowship of the National Institute of Credit Administration (FICA).
